Keerthana Charitable Trust is a registered public charitable trust started on 23.08.2006 and registered on the same day with Joint Sub Registered a Document no 838 of 2006 with the object to carry out services activities in rural areas.
RASHIKESAVAN.T .. a science graduate who lost his vision completely in an accident in a factory in Tuticorin while he was on duty during January 1997 is founder of the Trust. Founder who sees the world through the eyes of his wifeMrs. Maheswari, who was also working in the same factory and voluntarily married him, is eager to serve the rural society by all ways and means possible by him with the help of the well wishers.

Activities of trust
Educational
Though the rural areas have some good government infrastructure for their Primary and Middle schools, the children of illiterate parents are not fed with enough knowledge by the persons in charge of schools and so the children are not getting developed in a proper systematic manner.
In order to inculcate some knowledge of their education along with some basic knowledge about human values of life to followed as per our culture, the Trust picks up some service minded unemployed graduated or College Students, motivate and train them guide the students in the Tution Centers.
Apart from this Trust is conducting computer classes, spoken English and Hindi classes during summer, for the past three years to raise the knowledge of the rural students in various fields, sponsoring School uniforms, books, note books etc to the deserving students.
The rent, a mall honorajum for the teachers etc., are being met by the hundi collections in the tution centers and small contributions. well wishers.



Present  Proposal

As the response to the Educational service mainly free tution centers is over whelming, the Trust plans to setup more tution centers in the nearby deserving rural areas. Including the new, the free total tution centers will be 10 in number and approximately 500 students will be benefited.
Along with the free tution centers the trust has plan to start Residential based training institute for disabled persons.
Well wishers like who are social conscious and generous enough can sponsor to the trust individually or jointly with your minded friends or through some corporate / institutions you are associated with.
The trust is already registered u/s 12AA of Income Tax Act and the Donation to the Trust is eligible for exemption u/s 80G of Income Tax Act.

10/12/2006 Free Eye Camp (In Kunjandiyur and Kolathur)
01/09/2007 Financial aid to a Heart Patient College student for his heart operation (Fund was collected by hundi collection in the various places)
03/02/2008 Blood Donation Motivation Camp along with Blood Grouping Camp.
11/05/2008 Free Eye camp and physiotherapy camp
19/08/2008 Uniform issued to 60 school and college students (orphans)
26/09/2009 to 29/09/2009 Climate change awareness Programs among the school students
23/10/2009 New dresses were issued to 18 disables person for Deepavali Celebration
20/11/2009 One rupee coin box was provided to a disabled person(Ramesh) in front of Salem District Collector.
